Sealants & Fillers

TECHSEAL joint sealants and bitumen joint filler boards, compliant with ASTM & BS standards.

Sealing of Expansion, Contraction & Construction Joints

Pavement Joints are engineered gaps integrated into concrete structures – such as roads / highways, runways and airfields to accommodate the natural expansion and contraction of concrete slabs. Due to fluctuating ambient temperatures and heavy traffic loads, these slabs undergo significant thermal movement and deflection. Without properly sealed joints, incompressible materials (like grit and stones) and water can infiltrate the gaps. This leads to “spalling” (cracking of joint edges) and sub-base erosion, which eventually causes structural failure of the entire pavement.

Uses

Engineered Solutions for Infrastructure

To ensure the longevity of concrete pavements, joints must be sealed with high-performance, elastomeric materials that remain flexible across wide temperature ranges.

Contraction & Expansion Joints

Designed to manage the internal stresses of concrete, preventing random cracking in highways and large-scale industrial floors.

Runways & Airfields

Specialized sealing is required to withstand extreme tire pressure and high-velocity thermal blasts. For these environments, fuel-resistant sealants are essential to prevent damage from aviation fuel spills.

Construction Joints

Provide seamless transitions between different stages of concrete pouring, ensuring water-tight integrity across the entire airfield or roadway.

Technical Advantage

Our Polysulphide and Polyurethane sealing systems are specifically engineered for these dynamic environments. Compliant with BS 5212:1990 and ASTM standards, these sealants offer excellent recovery properties, UV resistance, and the durability required for high-traffic infrastructure.
